About a month ago, i started using illustrations and cover boards from children's books, something i've wanted to do for awhile. at a recent trip to the goodwill as-is 'bins' in a nearby town, i found many old children's books, coloring books and textbooks from the 1940's and 1950's. i happen to collect early readers, so this was a double find. i've posted some of the collages made from these vintage papers.

generally defined as the change produced in the apparent place of an object when it is viewed from a point other than that of reference. 'parallax' is a new way that i'm looking i.e.creating, in collage. it's a more abstract and intuitive way of working than i have used before. the first of these works is posted below. it is made on a masonite box panel, 8" x 8". the papers are all original vintage and found.
